The Hotel Magita is located in one of the oldest township of the region Tokaj-Hegyalja, Erdőbénye and opened up in 2002. The thousand year old past, the gentle landscape, the crystal clear air give a special atmosphere to the tiny village. Our hotel is on the main square of this tiny village and represents a special combination of the past and the present. Behind the rustic façade there is a building satisfying all demands and giving familiar cosiness. We have created ideal conditions to accommodate 71 guests who can recreate and relax here.
In our familiar restaurant that holds 50 seats, besides the delicacies of the traditional Hungarian kitchen we offer our guests already partly forgotten local dishes of Erdőbénye, several specialities connected with the Tokay wines and according to the season. The stately terrace belonging to the restaurant that holds 40 seats and can be heated is a nice scene of grill dinners with live music in pleasant summer nights. In the grill menu everybody can find his/her favourite dish, e.g. grilled ewe-cheese, goat’s milk cheese, grilled duck breast, lamb chops with rosemary and green vegetables. The delicious dishes made of game resp. of goat and sheep meat and cheese bred in the reservation nearby represent a rarity.
The famous wines of Hegyalja can be tasted in our restaurant. The selection of our wine card has been made up of the assortments of Hegyalja’s most famous wine cellars and wine farmers. The wines of the local cellars have, however, got priority, since several wine-connoisseurs and oenophiles think that “Tokaj has not got as good Tokay wine as Erdőbénye has”.
